Bookmaker Reviews

GentingBet Review

Looking for a change to your online betting? GentingBet is a name in online bookmaking that's been around for some time now. However, if you're new to the brand, there are still some fantastic welcome offers and promotions worth looking into.

Check out our full GentingBet review below and get the full lowdown on what to expect as a new customer.

Registration Process

Deposit and Withdrawal Options

GentingBet payment methods are pretty simple. Right now, you can deposit with either a Visa or MasterCard Debit.

You can pay in from as little as £10, but if you want to take on some of the bonus deals listed above, it might be worth going as high as £25.

There are no e-wallets such as PayPal supported here yet. However, GentingBet assures us these are ‘coming soon’. Quite when that will be, we’ll have to wait and see.

That said, even GentingBet’s own payments FAQ is a little confusing. They state early on that they only ever accept debit cards – but mention Skrill and Neteller further down. A bit odd – we’d suggest sticking with the card, for now.

You can also withdraw to either your Visa or MasterCard debit, and it’s free for you to do so. However, there is a large minimum withdrawal threshold of £60. That’s pretty high for a UK bookmaker.

Welcome Offer

As with all online bookies' deals, GentingBet will likely change their opening offers from time to time. Right now, however, you can claim up to £25 back as a free bet if your initial wager doesn't win. You'll need to settle a bet between £10 and £25 to qualify, and it'll need to be on a market with odds of at least 2.0.

Meet these requirements and you’ll get your money back, matched, which you can use on specific odds via the sportsbook. Further terms and conditions apply, as always, so make sure to take a closer look at the fine print before you put any money down.

Sportsbook Promotions

When you first visit GentingBet, make sure you don’t wander into the casino deals and promotions by mistake. These deals tend to be a lot different to those that apply to the sportsbook. Therefore, always click over to the ‘sports’ tab, which you’ll find next to ‘live casino’.

Football punters might also want to take a look at the GentingBet Saturday Multi. Place at least £20 on a multiple bet on qualifying games on a Saturday matchday, and you can claim £5 to use the next day. Keep in mind that you’ll need odds of at least 1.5 on your multiples.

These freebies do have time limits, too. The welcome bonus runs out seven days after activation, and you’ll need to use your Saturday football bonus by the following Tuesday. Otherwise, they’re gone forever.

There are even more promotions and big freebie deals that unfold at GentingBet. Take a look at their promotions tab, follow the brand on social media and get involved with their email lists. It’s worth holding out for their big event specials, too, for the Olympic Games and the World Cup.

VIP Program

The main program for VIPs here is called Genting Black. It’s an exclusive club, to the extent where you’ll actually only be able to sign up if you get an invite.

The Genting Black program gives you access to 100% deposit bonuses on the grades Bronze, Silver, Gold and Diamond. Get to Diamond level and you can claim back an extra £300!

You can also claim points to use as real bets, too – a great little extra that not all sportsbook VIP schemes run with.

Pre-Match Betting

As you’d expect, GentingBet offers markets for football, horse racing, tennis, basketball, cricket, NFL, ice hockey and more. Most of the attention goes to footy, here, but you can also find markets for table tennis, Aussie Rules football, cycling, GAA, Formula One, handball and golf. As we write this, there are 17 live markets up and running for volleyball at GentingBet!

Everything is really easy to find – the bigger sports and markets are available for you to scroll across at the top bar on the main sportsbook page, and you can also spot live scores and updating fixtures below.

Odds tend to be pretty competitive here, so by all means dive in and take a look around.

Esports Betting

GentingBet has a small esports section, covering popular titles such as CS:GO, DOTA 2 and LoL. During the writing of this review, there were 32 live markets available, meaning the sportsbook is one of several brands that are starting to take esports seriously on the wider stage.

Golf Betting

Golf is, naturally, one of the bigger draws at GentingBet. As with other sports markets, it’s simple to find your way to the latest cups and tournaments by checking out the relevant symbol in the top bar.

GentingBet occasionally throws out interesting deals here such as two and three ball bonuses. The best time to check out the golf markets is during big events such as the Ryder Cup.

Price Boosts

There don’t seem to be any boosts in play at GentingBet right now, but there are plenty of free bet opportunities. Again, it’s worth checking out the promotions page regularly to see what comes up.

Other Betting Specials

GentingBet offers a specials section where you can choose the winners of the Oscars, the latest TV competitions and more. There’s lots to dive into here, so it’s well worth exploring if you think you know who’s going to win Strictly Come Dancing.

Cash Out and Bet Builder

GentingBet offers both cash out and bet builder options, which is great news. Cash out is easy to spot in the main sportsbook when you filter by market, and the bet builder feature helps to take a lot of the frustration out of choosing individual markets and working out the odds for yourself.

Live Sports Betting

Live betting at GentingBet is definitely available, but it’s not as feature-rich as some of the rival sites and sportsbooks it’s up against. What’s more, there doesn’t seem to be any kind of live streaming on the site just yet, which we hope will roll out in the months to come.

In-play bets are really easy to launch here, though, so we have no real complaints on the whole.

Security

GentingBet is a very secure sportsbook in that its certificates were up to date at our last check – and it’s also regulated by both the UK Gambling Commission and the MGA in Malta.

The Genting brand is very well known and well regarded, meaning we don’t have any hesitation in recommending their services.

Customer Service and Support

If you do want to speak to GentingBet directly, you can click open the live chat window any time of day, any day of the week. The 24/7 live chat here gives you access to always-on customer support.

If you’d prefer, however, make sure to take a look at emailing the team. You can email support@gentingbet.com. However, as you might expect, it will take you longer to get a response to your query if you choose this method.

Responsible Gambling

There are some great features at GentingBet to help you keep track of your money as well as your time. You can set yourself deposit limits, for example, as well as self-exclusion settings, where you can effectively bar your account for a set period of time up to five years! You can choose the shorter time out function if you want to stop betting for a few days to a week.

Website User Experience

Overall, the GentingBet sportsbook is pretty fluid – it’s really easy to find all the information you need, and with a mobile first design in place, you shouldn’t have any problems getting into the site through your phone or tablet.

It’s nice and bright, too, which makes a change from some of the darker sportsbooks out there.

Mobile

GentingBet really goes all out when it comes to the mobile side of things. It offers a free app for both sports and casino games. These are accessible via iOS and Android, which is great news.

You can also get into the mobile site, which is really flexible and responsive. It works well on desktop, too!

Other Betting Options

Genting is best-known for its casino games, so it stands to reason that they have a big library of slots games as well as a live casino lounge. There’s separate deals and bonuses for this side of the site, meaning it’s well worth grabbing some freebies here while you can, too. Don’t forget to download the separate app!

Conclusion and Thoughts

GentingBet is still a new-ish name in the online sportsbook scene, but we think it holds lots of promise.

It’s pretty clear that the GentingBet brand is an off-shoot of the casino. After all, Genting is mainly known for its physical casino lounges. That said, the sportsbook is coming on in leaps and bounds, and the design of the site is really bright and refreshing compared to some of the others we’ve taken a look at over the years.

GentingBet’s only real downfall revolves around banking. Their own banking page is a little confusing if not contradictory in places. Not only that, but £60 minimum withdrawal is a bit too steep for punters who are used to less.

However, it’s still a really solid bookie – take a look at GentingBet for yourself, especially if you’re already familiar with the casino brand.
